The Reasons Why I Love You

The dictionary defines a mother as one's female parent. I do not know about you, but that definition does not come close to describing the awesomeness of my mother. She is the glue that binds us together as a family. She is the sweetest voice at the end of a frustrating day. She is the voice of reason even when I sometimes doubt my God given talents. She takes pride in doing what most mothers do, loving on her children biological and those she has seemed to adopt over the years. As a young girl I had no idea of the significant role my mother would play in molding me to become the woman I am today. Back then I was sort of selfish when it came to my mother. Our house was the hang out spot because everyone loved my mother and thought she was the greatest. When some of my friends started to call my mother mom, I would proudly boast she was my mother and not theirs. My mother comforted me by saying, you are my first born and there will never be anyone that can break that bond. She also cautioned everything is not always as it appears. That it was an honor for those outside of all family to consider her a mother figure. She made me realize even though most individuals have a mother, the relationship they have may not be as warm and loving as the one we share. So when others see the bond we have, they want to experience it first hand. I really did not get that until I was a bit older. I always felt I would be so very different than my mother. One of the greatest joys in my life today is that I am so very much like my mother, not just in looks, but kindness of heart, encouraging soul, and definitely God fearing. I thank God for blessing me with a mother I could share with so many others.

Isaiah 66: 10-11
Rejoice with Jerusalem and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice greatly with her, all you
who mourn over her. For you will nurse and be satisfied at her comforting breasts; you will drink
deeply and delight in her overflowing abundance.

To give you an idea of just how awesome my mother is, I will share with you the poem I wrote for her birthday on last year. Remember Mothers Day is not about how you can out do your
sibling by presenting your mother with the most expensive gift. It is about sharing the love and
expectations of years past and present and honoring the person that has played a major role in raising you to be the person you are today.

The Reasons Why I Love You

The day you were born marked the beginning of my existence

The woman I have become characterizes the substance of who
you are

The kindness in your heart is displayed by the compassion I
have for others

The sparkle in your eyes is a reflection of what I see in myself

The boldness in your conviction is the reason I hold myself in
such high regard

The reverence you show for God is the reason I am obedient
to his word

The love you give unconditionally is the reason I am not
afraid of failure

When I reach the end of my life I will rejoice because you
were there

And when our souls are rejoined in eternity it will be as
if we were never apart

Regardless of what happens during my lifetime you will
always be present in my heart

Be Blessed,
Lady 4.0
