The Price of Pain

No one deliberately seizes the opportunity to experience a season of pain. It generally occurs due to circumstances beyond your control. Often a mirage of emotions accompany those decumbant points in your life, and it's almost impossible to bring light to your situation. Not because you don't want to, more often it's because you are in complete denial. To be labeled as mentally challenged has a definite impact on your psyche. To wear the burden of life on your shoulders is one thing, but to assume that same task mentally is totally debilitating. It is a world of isolation and turmoil. Your mindset to isolate is that of self rejuvenation, however the reality is more like self annihilation. It places you in an ongoing state of detachment. It is an uncomfortable conversation to have with someone who has no clue of the path you walk. I wouldn't wish this category of suffering on my worst enemy. Your support system is a small cluster of family and friends. On occasion you may have to seek professional guidance for those tough terrains. This has no bearing on your faith walk. You can be a devout Christian. No one is immune to the tactlessness of this condition. There will be times when the last thing on your mind is a posture of prayer. And even though you know God is the only one who can save you, He will be placed on the back burner.  Not because you want Him to, but your level of desire for Him is overridden by your mental despair. So in the future try to be more understanding when someone you know acts indifferent. You have no idea of the depth of the situation they may be tackling. For those of you suffering in silence let me leave you with a word.

(1Peter 5:6-7)
Humble yourselves, therefore, under Gods mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
