Obedience Is the Only Option

Sometimes we get in a panic when particular events from our past resurface. We have this idea that the person we have become is more important and the person you want others to identify with. We have the need to be excepted amongst our peers and any connection with our past can ruin any chance we have for success. Well at least that is what the devil wants you to believe. Did you know that by keeping you paranoid about your past the devil is keeping you from experiencing the ultimate blessing from God. The reality is the person we once were, has a great deal to do with the person we have become. Our past is a part of our identity, and without it we would risk losing the memory of those trials in our lives that God has allowed us to endure to build on a foundation of who He is grooming us to be. What happens when God wants you to reveal your past in order to secure someones future? Are you really willing to miss out on your blessing simply because you do not want anyone to know who you were in your past life? No one is perfect, which is why God endured the ultimate sacrifice by allowing his only son Jesus Christ to be crucified on the cross in order that you be forgiven of your sins. Being obedient is a small price to pay for continued favor. Besides you being obedient to God, is no different that you expecting your child to be obedient to you.

Luke 6:46-49

"Why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say? I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck the house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."

Nothings Changed

If you actually knew me you would know when I am hurting.
If you actually believed in me, you would encourage when I am doubting.
If your heart was meant for me you would listen when God is talking.
If your hand was meant for mine, you would clasp mine when I am falling.
If my eyes were misting you would dry them and offer comfort.
If my faith was being tested you would pray for God to give me strength to endure it.
If my words are hurtful you would forgive me and not reciprocate.
If my actions are out of character you would not criticize or be judgmental.
If I lost sight of my purpose you would stand in the gap for me until I am once again grounded.
If our paths were somehow separated you would still love me in spite of my faults.
And if our paths were to never cross again your life would still be the richer even without me.
The answer is yes, I still love you too.

Be Blessed,
