The Price of Pain

No one deliberately seizes the opportunity to experience a season of pain. It generally occurs due to circumstances beyond your control. Often a mirage of emotions accompany those decumbant points in your life, and it's almost impossible to bring light to your situation. Not because you don't want to, more often it's because you are in complete denial. To be labeled as mentally challenged has a definite impact on your psyche. To wear the burden of life on your shoulders is one thing, but to assume that same task mentally is totally debilitating. It is a world of isolation and turmoil. Your mindset to isolate is that of self rejuvenation, however the reality is more like self annihilation. It places you in an ongoing state of detachment. It is an uncomfortable conversation to have with someone who has no clue of the path you walk. I wouldn't wish this category of suffering on my worst enemy. Your support system is a small cluster of family and friends. On occasion you may have to seek professional guidance for those tough terrains. This has no bearing on your faith walk. You can be a devout Christian. No one is immune to the tactlessness of this condition. There will be times when the last thing on your mind is a posture of prayer. And even though you know God is the only one who can save you, He will be placed on the back burner.  Not because you want Him to, but your level of desire for Him is overridden by your mental despair. So in the future try to be more understanding when someone you know acts indifferent. You have no idea of the depth of the situation they may be tackling. For those of you suffering in silence let me leave you with a word.

(1Peter 5:6-7)
Humble yourselves, therefore, under Gods mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

How Faith Works

If you're like me, you attempt to live your life as per God's instruction. Mind you that
isn't always as easy as it may seem. For many of us we are taught the difference
between right and wrong at an early age. However, even with parental supervision we
didn't always get it right. None the less our parents never lost faith in us and continued
to love us despite our many blunders. The dictionary defines faith as "belief that is not
based on proof." So, essentially that equates to our parents believing that even though
our actions in the past may have been less than forthcoming, we still had promise.

Believe it or not, God has the same viewpoint. If he had not do you actually think
he would have given his greatest sacrifice for you? A parent will do anything in
their power to protect the well being of their children. According to scripture

John 3:16 ~ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever
believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life

That means God made a conscious decision to allow his only child to endure the brunt
of the most unthinkable act, in order, that you may be saved from a life of damnation.
I don't know about you, but that is faith if I ever saw it. So for those of you who lose
faith in God because life does not live up to your expectations, keep in mind, not once
did he say becoming a Christian would void your life of any obstacles.

Like your maternal parents even though you continue to cruise through life one
mistake at a time, God still trusts you will learn to have faith in his ability to heal
your brokenness. We've all been hurt, shamed, and left to feel worthless with no
hope of resurrection. I implore you to take a glimpse past your pain.

Matthew 21:22 ~ And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith

What Are You Afraid Of?

Sometimes in life we are so focused on the perception others have of us, we forget about our own identity. Your past failures are just a small component of who you truly are as an individual. The turmoil some of us deal with in regards to our past keeps us stifled. The bitterness if not acknowledged will eat away at your soul. This causes us to feel empty and withdrawn from the reality of our everyday lives.  At no point did God ever say becoming a Christian would be uncomplicated. Rely on the authenticity of Gods word. According to

Exodus 14:14 : The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent

So even when it seems God is not present, He is firmly engaged in your situation. Your happiness and well being is extremely important to him.

Proverbs 14:13 : Even in laughter the heart may ache, and the end of joy may be grief

This simply means there are times when you will have to laugh through the pain, in order to grasp the joy of healing. My grandmother once told me pain is your bodies way of expelling unwanted toxins. This doesn't just mean physical pain, it could also be mental or emotional pain. For instance that debilitating relationship you continue to carry, or the career you no longer enjoy, or that dreadful childhood secret that holds you hostage. Regardless of your current situation, remember as long as you are afraid to acknowledge it, it will continue to haunt you. So jump in with both feet and declare this thing be released.

1Peter 2:21 : For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps

Lack of Faith Leads to Worry

Our lives can be a series of ups and downs, and if we are not careful we can sometimes trade in our faith for a bucket of doubt. Every situation that arises in our lives is not necessarily initiated by the devil. A few of the trials we encounter are actually self created. There are times when we allow people and things to occupy the space and time that was designated specifically for God. When we lose our connection with God we panic when we do hear His reply in response to our restlessness. We feel He has abandoned us, and left us to weather the storm on our own. The truth of the matter is God is still there and He is still speaking. We have lost the ability to hear His voice, because the other outside influences have drowned him out. According to

Matthew 6:34  ~ Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

We worry to the point of becoming frantic, because we can not visually see a resolution to the issue at hand. Our paranoia overrides our ability to think logically, and we become impatient. Without knowing it we have set ourselves up for the big let down, which again is due to our own volition.

Romans 1:28 ~ And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done

So make no mistake when we do not have faith in God's ability to bring us out of our situations, He will sometimes place us in a posture of total submission. It is then that we realize the only answer to our dilemma is to wait for God's instruction.

Timing

My melancholy mood is the result of the non-existent faith I have
in myself, but how can that be when I have faith in you

My thoughts are born from unparalleled visions of greatness, but
the reality is my doubt trumps the potential I see in myself

So much so that every decision I make is based on the residual
fumes from someone else’s dream

My thoughts are inconsistent and my needs are nonexistent because
I fade into the backdrop of society

No longer visible by freedom but bound by the ties of uncertainty

It is lonely in here with no one to talk to but you already know that

Tension mounts and a sigh escapes because I am not prepared to lead
but you beg to differ (Stand Tall) you say, (Hold Your Head High)
you say because your time of rebirth is almost near

Do not lose sight of the promises I have made for they alone should be
enough to give you strength

Step into your purpose my child (Own It) (Live It) (Be It) for I have
destined you for a time such as this

Do not make the mistake of treating the uncommon as though it
were not

Remember this journey is less about you and more about my will
for you

So do not be afraid for I am the rock on which you stand

Then and Now

I am oblivious to my surroundings as digest this silence

It satisfies the hunger I have to be different

I have conversations with myself and often reminisce
back to a time when my thoughts spoke to your spirit
and we became one

Now we drift silently apart yet still together with no
real perception of time

We circle the answer but never really raise the question

When reality sets in we are two thoughts apart and three
words shy of making this thing official

Our gaze turns into a lifetime of memories and the beginning
of a new chapter has begun

What Seems Normal

We are often caught off guard by the behaviors we exhibit. Subconsciously we blindly accept false truths as a way to fit into what society deems as a level of normalcy. Sometimes it takes far more courage to display your true ideation.

According to (2 Timothy 2:15) Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, handling accurately the word of truth.

In short what others think about the words we speak should not be our concern. We should delight in the eyes of the Lord that we are bold and not ashamed to speak the truth as God presents it to us. When God has a calling on your life there is a level of expectation that goes along with that. However if we are not careful we will allow the negativity we receive from others to stifle our gift, because we would rather be accepted by those whose opinions matters not. It's amazing that we feel simply because we are christian we expect God to answer our every prayer. But when it comes time for us to honor God by being obedient and follow his instruction we are slow to move because of how others will view us. Which may speak to why some of your trials last longer than others. Just so we are clear, I am speaking from experience.

Friendship

Your wisdom is well received, and
I take great pleasure in your ability to be objective
Who are you and what does God wish for you to
share with me?
Your heart is pure and purged of stale conversation
You bring about a change in the way I view the world
around me, and that somehow makes perfect sense
Thanks for being a light when I sometimes seem to
stumble in the dark
A friend, I think you are

Be Blessed,

Living Sacrifice

It's daybreak and my heart is empty
Hollow as an infested log thrown aside as discarded waste
My thoughts are racing and going nowhere fast
The dreams of uncertainty are still haunting me and I can't seem to break free of the fear of failure
God how wicked have I been that my life is of no significance
I am completely exposed with no garment to cover my shame
I beg for relief but only encounter silence
I am depleted of all my will and my pain is real
Then I hear your voice
My child do you not know who I truly am?
You speak as if you don't know me
I am your Father in heaven who has kept your enemies at bay
Every situation in your life has been of my doing to ensure you understand the true meaning of suffering
You will be tasked to assist those in need
In order to understand their place you must have first hand experience to offer genuine support
Your life will then take on a totally different meaning
You will now be blessed beyond measure because you allowed yourself to be a living sacrifice

Exposing Who I Truly Am

Reflection defined is a thought occurring in consideration or meditation. This may sometimes cause you to shy away from the one person other than God, that knows the truth about who you are beneath the surface. If you are wondering then yes, that would be you. Most of our lives we live to please others when the reality is that generally does not constitute happiness. But because of the fear of being rejected we sometimes live a lifetime of unhappiness. The ambitions we have are placed in a file entitled "not now" or "it's just not meant to be", because we are afraid to embrace the gift God has so graciously given us.

According to 1John 4:18 ~ There is no fear in love, and perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.

Time alone with God has re-birthed a liveliness in me that I will no longer take for granted. I will follow his every instruction as it pertains to my mind, body and soul. I will no longer live to please those that are not worthy of all I possess. We can sometimes allow those that seemingly need rescuing to enter into our personal space, and not realize they are there to do us harm.

For the bible says 1Peter 5:8 ~ Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.

I am indeed a Queen in my own right and I will live up to that challenge. My life will begin to unfold and blossom into an open book. My smiles going forward will truly be for that reason and not to hide the uncertainty that plagued me for so very long. My eyes will be wide open to the possibilities that await me, and I will take full advantage of every single one.

Matthew 17:20 ~ He said to them, because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain 'Move from here to there', and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."

My circle of friends may become smaller, but I am confident that will be a blessing. My time will be consumed with living my life my way, or rather God's way. This has been a year of new awakenings, and the upcoming year will continue to serve as my canvas as I create a portrait defining me as I see me, and not what others perceive me to be.

Ephesians 4:29 ~ Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is  good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those that hear.

So as you bring in the new year maybe it will be wise to "Reflect" instead of bringing about a "Resolution." I pray blessings of prosperity to everyone that reads these words.

Happy New Year!!!

The Power of the Unknown

Sometimes it takes someone you do not not know to give you a true revelation of your interpretation of yourself

Your innermost secrets resurface begging for clarity and your mind becomes inhabited with thoughts of old

The person you have born anew is challenged by the distant fear of the person you used to be

In theory it is said that time will ultimately heal all wounds, but what of the wounds you are unaware you possess

Those that are so deeply hidden you actually believe they are the pains of someone you have encountered

Your mind is partially shielded because you are afraid to bring forth the truth, not the truth as you know it but the truth as it actually transpired

You are mentally numb from tirelessly abandoning any association of your previous life

The reality of it all is that in order to embrace your new found freedom you must address the demons of the life you attempt to leave behind

The pain runs through your veins like deep dark molasses suffocating you with each and every breath

The idea of slumber is far away in the distance and evidence of your rescuer is nowhere in sight

You silently cry out  to God for what seems to be a lifetime of agony and your chest burns with the intensity of a four alarm blaze

Darkness is what surrounds you and silence is your new theme song

You awake with a new sense of purpose and realize God was the answer to your dilemma all along

Your Role as a Mother

At what point do we start to take responsibility for the actions of our children? As parents God gives us the task of nurturing and caring for our children, to ensure they are taken care of during their formative years. All too often we lose sight of this because society has groomed us to believe the best way to become a good parent is to be your child's friend, by convincing them you are their equal. There are a few different definitions of equal, but two of my favorites are (1. of the same rank) and (2. evenly proportioned or balanced). If you were born in 1965 and you are two years from being half a century old, how is it that you are evenly proportioned or balanced with your child who is exactly 27 years younger than you? According to

 Proverbs 23:13-14
Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die. If you strike him with the rod, you will save his soul from Sheol.

Now granted a good majority of us were not saved, or maybe saved but were not actively following the guidelines God had set in place for us when our children were born. When we were young and naive we thought being a good parent was to provide the necessities (food, shelter and clothing) and an occasional extra if we could afford it. We had no idea we were suppose to be protecting our children's souls and teaching them the fundamentals of the bible. I mean how could we teach something we knew little or nothing about? I grew up in church like many of you and during that time I can honestly say I was going through the motions. In other words I only went because I was required to attend. I had no idea of the reasons and purpose at the time because during service my mind was mostly occupied with what I would be doing after the service ended. Now that I am attempting to comply with God's purpose for my life it has been extremely difficult to make that transition. I was never one to fall into the parent/friend trap with my children and as my children will attest they did receive corporal punishment when needed. I think my biggest flaw was attempting to compensate for the missing parent. According to

1John 3:18
Let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth

So for me working two jobs to accommodate a lifestyle I felt my children deserved was number one on my priority list. In doing so that allowed my children a great deal of idle time. Since I was not regularly reenforcing God's plans and expectations for their lives, and I was trusting them to do the right thing based on what I had taught them about right and wrong. I did not understand that I should also be preparing them for the possibility of influences outside of our home. But God has given me the privilege of a second chance.

Isaiah 43:18
Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old

So basically I can not change what has already occurred. However the relationship with my children going forward is based strictly on God's principles for my life and my role as their mother. Never lose sight of your true purpose. The devil can paint a picture so vivid that will having you thinking all is a lost cause. Do not feed into that lie. Your child's soul is definitely worth fighting for everyday. Just remember someone had to fight for your soul to get you to where you are today.

Sister to Sister

When my day seems bleak and my worries are many I am taken back
by the power of your promises

Thank you God for allowing me to cry when I need to, fall when I get
besides myself, elevated when it's my season, and stand firm against
opposition, and above all staying committed to the "One Man" that
loves me unconditionally, "You!!'

Today I will thoroughly digest a situation before making an effort to
verbally smooth over the rough edges especially if my response may
not be well fancied

I try best as I can to maintain a level of integrity and self respect,
but sometimes that is a difficult task because those that are unsure
of themselves tend to challenge me to bring me down to their level

Unfortunately I will not allow you to take up negative space in my
mind or suck the life out of me with your never ending drama filled existence

I pride myself in being a woman of God, I carry myself as such, and
expect you to recognize

No matter how insecure you are with your self image that will not
change the way I feel about myself

However because I do not believe in kicking a person when they are
down, I will continue to pray for you, encourage you and lift you up
when I can

But I can not do that as long as you allow yourself to be mistreated

If the man you love does nothing to encourage your dreams, puts you
down every chance he gets, belittles your accomplishments to make
himself look great and never acknowledges you in public you are on a
fast track to misery.

Truth is if he was never taught any better is is sometimes difficult to
expect him to do better. Even though it may be extremely painful,
sometimes you just have to walk away for the sake of saving yourself
and allowing God to heal you.

In God's eyes you are wonderfully and beautifully made and He will
always love you unconditionally no matter what.

This season in your life is only temporary and God will use this time
to strengthen your relationship with Him to show you firsthand what
it feels like to be pursued by a man that genuinely loves you

I haven't always been the woman you see before you, but because I
was once where you are now, I know how it feels

So from now until you tell me otherwise I will be your sounding board
when you are unsure of your purpose

I will be there to dry your tears when the pain becomes unbearable

I will hold you up when you can no longer stand on your own

And I will pray for you consistently so that your self-worth is once
again elevated

And when God has brought you through your season of healing, I will
gladly pass your this baton

Then you will feel the excitement I feel now when it is your turn to
"pay it forward" when the next sister comes along and needs a rock
on which to stand

Be Blessed,

RadomThought

The definition of deceive is "to lead astray or to cause to accept as true or valid what is false or invalid." Be careful of where your faith lies. When you become a Christian the devil and his army will be more persistent in causing havoc in your already complicated daily life situations. If you are not careful this can sometimes cause you to give someone else control over what you learn and believe in regards to Gods expectation of you. God expects you to engage in a close personal relationship with Him by reading, studying and meditating on His word, and dedicating daily prayer time with Him to know for "Yourself" what the "Bible" says along with joining and becoming an "Active" member in a church that "Preaches and Teaches" the "Truth" of His gospel as it is written. You have to be able to distinguish God's voice above all others. (Isiah 5:13) plainly states "Therefore my people will go into exile for a lack of understanding; their "Men of Rank" will die of hunger and their "Masses" will be parched with thirst. In this scripture reference to "Men of Rank" would be the (Shepherds, Men of God, or Pastors) who are called to "Preach and Teach" God's word. Reference to "Masses" would be the (Sheep, Flock, or Children of God). According to (Matthew 7:15) "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." In other words looks can be deceiving or in this case words can be deceiving and cause you to misinterpret the scriptures true meaning. (Matthew 10:16) says I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. The beginning of (Matthew 10:17) reads "Be on your guard against men." Shrewdness is definitely perceived as a negative connotation. But God is saying in order to avoid the deception that can be imposed on you by someone else you must keep your guard up and have a good solid fundamental spiritual foundation of "Biblical Knowledge." You must keep your guard up and protect your "Spirit" against those that are attempting to use the "Bible" as a way of conforming you to what "They" believe, not necessarily what the "Bible" is teaching. As innocent as "Doves" is what takes place when you except "Jesus" as your Lord and Savior and you are washed by the "Blood of the Lamb." Your eyes are then opened to see and think more like "Jesus." Just as I have offered up these scripture references it is still your responsibility to research for yourself to confirm the validity of the information provided.

Patiently Waiting

I'm tired of my sistahs seeking love with
blinders on. Mistaking love for a few sighs
and moans. Physical stimulation is all you
get. Never thinking once "That's Not It."

You allow yourself to be used on his
terms. Truth is he could care less about
you. When will you learn? So you pray
to God for a man to come into your
life. With the soul purpose of becoming
that man's wife.

Whose to say that's God's plan for
you. God may have another agenda
set forth for you to pursue. So God
is patient and will never roam and
even when you've lost your way,
he'll allow you to come back home.

God is also generous even when you
may have doubt. If you heart is
breaking He'll mend it on the spot.

He never gives a second thought to
the things He has to do. Ultimately
His main concern is taking care of
you.

Make no mistake God will sometimes
allow you to have what He knows
you don't need. In order to get you
aligned with Him, and that you
still can't see.

He wants you to know He loved you
first. He wants you to know He can
quench that thirst. He wants you
to know everything you desires He
holds in the palm of His hands. He
wants you to make Him your
number one man.

So He waits and He waits for you
to grab hold of His hand. Then He
sighs and then He cries because
He's doing the best that He
can. As He continuously tries
to tell you no man can love you
like He can.

But you continue to choose physical
fulfillment, and you think that is
okay. But when your heart and soul
are broken again, the good news is
He still won't turn you away.

Be Blessed,

The Choices We Make

The choices you make will often dictate the life you live the world

may be your oyster but that does not mean that life cannot lose its zeal

There are those on the fast road to success but because of your lack

of patience and wanting to save time decided to make a deal with

the devil for a few extra dimes

Now that the contract has already been signed you realize everything

that glitters isn’t always gold and it’s too late to turn back because

the devil has your soul

He uses your talents and gifts for his own purposeful greed and when

you finally get the courage to stand up for what you believe in he

throws that contract at your feet

The frustration becomes overwhelming and you fall to your knees and

you cry out for God to save you hoping He will give you a reprieve

All you hear is silence and God’s voice is nowhere to be found and the

devil keeps pulling you in deeper by the shackles he has you bound

You close your eyes and you pray and apologize for all of those you’ve

done wrong which was never your intention was the title of your song

As you sit and reflect over all the choices you’ve made during your

life God whispers “this is what happens when you attempt to reach

my designed destination for you well before your time”

Now I must take you back to square one to ensure you are mine

When I am certain your heart is genuine and you are worthy of the

riches I hold you will once again be “King” of the mountain but not

before your story is told

Waiting On Love

The words I recite are what makes me unique, and they need not be
in any particular sequence it's just an expression of me being me

I often speak on love because those are the thoughts that occupy a
lot of my time, reminiscing on loves past and not a match I could find

The ratio of men to women is quite disturbing to say the least...hmmmmm

Did you know there were four women to every man? (Statistically that is)

So if a man has a choice of four women verses one, what are the
odds he would pursue for love and commit to one rather than making
his rounds and dating for fun

As a woman you must present and carry yourself as a "Queen" to
confirm without a shadow of a doubt that you will not entertain
company with anyone less than a "King"

If the truth be told God, your Father has been preparing you for your
one true love all of your life, but sometimes in order to recognize a
true "King" you must kiss a toad once or twice

Remember ladies your beauty will catch his eye, but your character
will capture his heart

The sooner you embrace the values of submission and humility
qualifies you for God's favor from the start

Keep in mind submission is not about that other person but rather
being obedient to God

So do not allow that negative connotation cause you to miss out on
your blessing, well deserved indeed

So shhhhh silence is golden be patient and allow God to prepare you
to receive your long awaited "King"

Be Blessed,

Unspoken

They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree

Well I love the fact that I have mother's eyes and my mother's thighs

Even that awkward dimple on my right butt cheek no amount of exercise or
collagen cream seems to be able to remove

I love the way my reflection in the mirror brings back memories of my mother
during her youthfulness

The way I walk, the way I talk, and the way my eyes sparkle when I know you're
watching me from across the room

The fondness I have for natural beauty instead of hiding behind a mask

The way you love me encompasses a shield of protection no other can penetrate

The thought of your caress sends a freezing sensation through my veins and when
I form words to speak I expel clouds of vapors in the air

My words sometimes fall on deaf ears as my sentences are incomprehensible
because those around me tend to think I am speaking in my native
tongue...whatever that may be

I often loose sense of time when I am in your presence

I am uncertain of this obvious connection between you and I

The tide is high and your love washes over me with great depth and concentration

I am filled with envy as I sometimes long to be you, to experience the gratification
you must feel knowing you have the ability to capture me, even when I am not
awake

I suppose this must be what love feels like when it catches you off guard

And if it is then let it be so

I look forward to unpredictability because I have grown accustomed to your
spontaneous gestures

Just promise me this is not a onetime thing and I will graciously continue to be
your puppet on a string, if you will have me

Be Blessed,

Obedience Is the Only Option

Sometimes we get in a panic when particular events from our past resurface. We have this idea that the person we have become is more important and the person you want others to identify with. We have the need to be excepted amongst our peers and any connection with our past can ruin any chance we have for success. Well at least that is what the devil wants you to believe. Did you know that by keeping you paranoid about your past the devil is keeping you from experiencing the ultimate blessing from God. The reality is the person we once were, has a great deal to do with the person we have become. Our past is a part of our identity, and without it we would risk losing the memory of those trials in our lives that God has allowed us to endure to build on a foundation of who He is grooming us to be. What happens when God wants you to reveal your past in order to secure someones future? Are you really willing to miss out on your blessing simply because you do not want anyone to know who you were in your past life? No one is perfect, which is why God endured the ultimate sacrifice by allowing his only son Jesus Christ to be crucified on the cross in order that you be forgiven of your sins. Being obedient is a small price to pay for continued favor. Besides you being obedient to God, is no different that you expecting your child to be obedient to you.

Luke 6:46-49

"Why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not do what I say? I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck the house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."
